The division known as The Buffalo Shipyard, serves to broker work for the fabrication division, in addition to providing ship and vessel repair, barge construction and dry bulk commodity handling on the company's docks.

This division takes advantage of Buffalo's strategic geography, as did its former owners, The Buffalo Dry Dock and American Shipbuilding Company. It has been said that the site is the oldest operational marine facility on the Great Lakes where master shipbuilders worked before the War of 1812.
